How much do SEO services cost?It depends. There is no one-size-fits-all solution for everyone, so feel free to get in touch with me and we can talk about what would be the best fit for you.
-
What are backlinks in SEO?Backlinks are hyperlinks from one website to another. For example, this is a backlink that takes you to my book on Amazon. Regardless of SEO, backlinks inherently enable your website to get more traffic. But it's said that backlinks are important for SEO because they build clout for your website. Every time someone links to your website, it's like they're giving you a referral and search engines take notice of that. This is why it's so important to regularly post blog content that can be shared on social media.

What is image optimization? In a technical sense, image optimization is exporting and sizing your images so that they load efficiently on the page. For SEO purposes image optimization is more about naming and captioning your files and images the right way. It's usually no small feat to take on image optimization for your website, but it makes a huge difference in results.

Is SEO worth the investment?"Hey I was trying to Google to website but I couldn't find it" If that statement would embarass you, SEO is worth the investment. How much SEO you should invest in depends on the purpose of your website. If you're selling a product online, you'll want to invest in more SEO than someone who just wants to make sure their design portfolio shows up when you Google their name.
-
How long does it take for SEO to work?It depends. To give a balanced estimate I usually say 4-6 months depending on how aggressive your strategy and how competitive your keywords are. With an aggressive strategy in a niche subject, you'll see SEO results pretty quickly. For example, once I did all the technical stuff for my website, I got it to rank first for "Jason Hewett" overnight as well as a few niche keywords in my blog, and that even led to finding some new clients. Sometimes aggressive SEO strategy makes sense, and sometimes it's better to start small and do more as you go. It all depends on where you're starting from and where you hope to go.

What is an SEO audit? An SEO audit is basically an evaluation of your website's ability to be discovered by users. Sometimes audits will assign an "SEO score" which is usually based on technical SEO best practices and website traffic. Improving your SEO score doesn't necessarily mean you have good SEO. At the end of the day, you need to impress people, not search engines, and that's why technical SEO is the icing on the cake for me. My SEO audits provide insights as to what sorts of keywords and phrases users are searching for, what keywords and phrases are driving traffic to your website, what's working for your competitors, and how you want to structure your content for technical and aesthetic purposes.
-
How does the process work? You can simply send me the URL to your website and I can provide a free quote with some options. Most of my clients request an SEO audit and makeover. Here's how that works: 1. We agree on the scope of the project 2. After completing a downpayment, I perform the audit and present my findings to you. 3. I develop web copy to your approval and invoice for remaining balance. Often clients will request a blog package built-in with the audit and makeover. The monthly services begin after we complete the website.

Why is a blog important for SEO?One of the main factors of SEO is amount of textual content on a website. Rather than having a gazillion words on your home page, it's nice to organize your content on a blog so that your viistors can choose what they would like to read, if anything. But that's just the technical side of things. From a marketing perspective, your blog is where you share values, expertise, and thought leadership. A blog is often someone's introduction to your website and brand, so it's important that you make a good impression with your blog.
-
How do you turn in assignments? Can you upload the blogs?Usually I turn in assignments on Google docs for drafts and then if we agree to it, yes I can upload blogs and edit web copy directly. *While I did design and build my own website I do not currently offer custom HTML services but I can work within pretty much any CMS
-
How many revisions do you offer? It's not finished until you're satisfied.
-
What are your payment terms? For larger projects I usually ask for a deposit and invoice for the balance upon completion of a close-to-final draft. I accept most online payment methods including Paypal, transferwise, venmo, Xelle, and direct deposit.
-

Should I convert my blog into a podcast?Having an audio version of your blog can be a great way to engage your audience and attract new followings. For SEO podcasts and video content are excellent alternatives to blogs and can be just as impactful. But just because you have a podcast doesn't mean people will listen. Like anything, you get out of podcasting what you put into it.
-

-

How did you learn Spanish?I studied for years in American schools and Universities taking advanced classes and practicing whenever I could with neighbors and exchange students. Eventually I studied in Spain for a month and that helped me become more fluent. I listen to music, watch videos, and read in Spanish dailly. I still have a lot to learn.
-
How did you learn Portuguese?Youtube tutorials, music, recipes, and talking with online gamers. I still have a lot to learn.
-
How did you get into voice acting?I've always wanted to act. I love performing and I love acting and nothing beats live performance for me. My natural talent is having a good ear. I can pickup nuances in sounds in ways I can't explain and mimic people and accents really well. I've always been able to do that since I was a kid, and I didn't want to wait for Hollywood to discover me. That and voice acting became more accessible to more people thanks to cheaper microphones and technology and also the demand for voice acting has been growing with the prevalence of online marketing.

How long have you had celiac disease?I was diagnosed in September of 2003
-
How did you get into SEOI started learning it in college to promote different creative projects and comedy shows and also with the content writing and blogging I was doing for clients. As I evolved as a writer, I learned more about SEO by working for different marketing agencies and also to promote my own websites and projects. My SEO reinassance came with learning how to sell random products on eBay which taught me less about SEO theory and more about how it actually works (or doesn't) in practice and at the whims of the search engine.
